PrivacyHound released: an open source Android privacy monitoring tool
In the digital age, our mobile phones silently call cameras, microphones, positioning every day...
But do you really know which apps are "peeping" at you?
Today, HackingGroup officially released open source tools--PrivacyHound, a privacy monitoring tool specially created for Android users.
It is as keen as the mythical roaring dog, capturing and recording the invocation of sensitive permissions by various apps on mobile phones in real time, making privacy violations invisible.
Why do I need PrivacyHound?
Have you ever encountered a scene like this:
There was no photo taken, but the camera indicator light was on?
The map is not opened, but the GPS positioning icon flashes frequently?
When an App is running in the background, the microphone is secretly working?
These are not illusions. More and more facts show that some applications frequently invoke sensitive permissions and collect user privacy data without the user's knowledge. Ordinary users have little means to perceive these behaviors.
PrivacyHound's mission is to make it transparent.
core functions
🔍Real-time monitoring
Check the turn-on status of camera, microphone, GPS and other hardware in real time. Once an App calls sensitive permissions, Xiao Tianquan will immediately capture them.
📊Privacy signage
Visually display the apps that are currently using sensitive permissions and the sensors they occupy at a glance.
Historical traces
Record in detail the start time, duration and caller's App of each permission call, so that peeping behavior can not hide.
🎯Accurate identification
Use Android AppOps statistical technology to accurately match permission usage records and reject false positives.
Let's see the actual effect👇
▲ Privacy signage: A clear overview of rights usage
▲ Historical traceability: Complete permission call record
▲ Usage Guidelines: Simple and intuitive operation guidance
safe and credible
